I am excited to share this side table makeover with you today. I am finally starting to paint things besides walls! In any marriage, people bring together their STUFF. In my own, my husband brought along with him two of these very sturdy side tables. As you can tell from the “before”, they weren’t much to look at though. Furniture DIY can be very scary but it shouldn’t be.
I really needed a bedside table for the smaller guest room and this table was the perfect size and shape. I have lots of furniture makeovers planned and this was a perfect way to start. I started by sanding the old varnish off and smoothing out the bumpy, water damaged top. I then applied a white wood primer spray over the entire table, making sure to get the crevices and that the spray was even.
After priming, I used Tuscan Orange from Fusion Mineral. It’s a matte boutique paint made exclusively for painting furniture. You don’t want to use latex wall paint for furniture because it isn’t as durable and will more easily chip and peel. You can buy Fusion Mineral Here.
The color pop was just what this neutral palette needed. I am very happy with it.
On to the next project!
