A review of my favorite Norwex Products that I have used for over 4 years now.
A few years ago, I was introduced to Norwex Cleaning Products. To be perfectly honest, it has changed my cleaning life making it simpler, faster, and surprisingly cleaner.
I have been asked a lot about our experiences since I wrote my Honest Norwex Review on their cloths. The short answer: Some products work like magic, and I will probably never use anything else, but there have also been a few let downs. So today, I thought I would share our top 5 best Norwex products and why.
Where to Buy Norwex?
As with all my reviews, I am not affiliated with Norwex in any way. I just write these to help others decide and share a bit of the love of what has worked for me to make my life simpler, cleaner, and with less work.
While I highly recommend purchasing from your own consultant, I do have a consultant with an online store if you don’t. You can shop with her here, and it is much cheaper than Amazon. (If you found this useful, you could use “Clean with Rachel” party for your order, and I might earn a bag of laundry detergent someday. Either way, I am happy to help!)
1. The Window Cloth
If you could buy only one product to simplify cleaning your home, the Norwex Window Cloth would be the one! I have never found anything that removes streaks, waterspots, and fingerprints from windows with such ease. Even car windows in the sun – this cloth leaves no streaks! I use it to clean faucets, glass shower doors, and make vases sparkling clean.
Now I do want to add one thing. This cloth is designed to be used dry, after you have wiped/scrubbed the area with WATER via a sponge or cloth. The window cloth is like a polishing cloth. I had a friend who lamented that her window cloth wasn’t working. Turns out she was pre-washing her windows with a cleaner that was leaving a residue. It took a few cleanings with water to get through all that residue, and she realized that she needed to polish with the cloth until streak free.
2. The Rubber Brush
Fact: If dog hair gets on your clothes or couches, this is the best cleaning item I have ever used – by miles.
Our home consists of dark floors and couches. But we have white shedding dog! It was so bad; I spent the extra $$$ on a rhoomba in the hopes of keeping up with the dog hair. While that helped, keeping the dog hair off the couches was a nightmare.
This rubber brush has worked miracles. It brushes the hair away pretty easily. In fact, much, MUCH easier than all of our vacuum attachments. Cleaning the sofa is still a fairly large job, but after using the rubber brush, it probably took a ⅓ of the time it used to.
But that’s not all! This brush is great for wool coats, cleaning dirt off floor mops, crumbs on car seats, the corners of carpeted stairs or bathmats that can’t be vacuumed, and tons of other places. Check it out! You won’t regret it if you have pets!
Check out this substitute that works exactly the same for cheaper.
3. Dusting Mitt
Admittedly, dusting is not something that I find exciting, but I do love this little dusting mitt, even though I could see some improvements.
I used to use swiffer and I shudder to think of all the money I wasted. This mitt does a much better job of grabbing even the finest dust with ease. And it really sticks to the microfiber until wash day. I also love the kid sized mitt, because I just hand it off to my son and he actually likes dusting!
However, I do have one gripe about it. The edging around the mitt can make it a bit more difficult to get into corners and tight spaces (like under electronics). Even with that, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
4. Laundry Detergent
People loooooove this laundry detergent! I have not yet met anyone who isn’t a huge fan. While it can seem pricey, I only use about 1 tablespoon for an extra large load, so a little goes a very long way.
Also, it works! I am here to say that the clothes are noticeably cleaner, and my husband’s white shirts are lasting much longer without armpit yellowing (gross, I know, but everyone sweats.)
Also, if you are health conscious or sensitive to dyes and perfumes, this laundry detergent has no perfumes, artificial brighteners, sulfates, phosphates, or fillers. No yucky stuff!
I have now used this in both my old conventional washer/dryer set and a new high efficiency set. I have never had any problems with either and about the same results, although I have never used anything else in the high-efficiency set.
Pro secret: I order 6 bags at a time to save on shipping. That should last me about 7 months, and we do 5-7 full sized loads each week.
5. Envirocloth
This little wiping towel is so unassuming. It’s just a towel, right? If you haven’t read my full review of the norwex towels, I go in depth of why I like it so much.
I clean every surface of the bathroom, kitchen, small messes- almost everything! No more carrying a bunch of cleaners around to do the house. However, my favorite aspect of these towels is that they don’t get that dirty towel smell that my old kitchen rags used to!
What about other Norwex Proucts?
To be honest, it was very difficult to whittle down the list to my Top 5, because there are so many great Norwex products and uses that I have found. So here are my honorable mentions, which are honestly fabulous.
Honorable Mentions
- Descaler – Descalers are irritating, odorous, caustic products. However, Norwex descaler actually works great and it doesn’t have horrible fumes. My parents live on a limestone shelf with well water, which means they have the worst case of hard water possible, and the scale is ridiculous. My mom LOVES this stuff.
- Timeless Rescue Gel– Although Norwex is primarily for cleaning, this little gem is awesome. It works very well on tired muscles like shoulders, but I thought the “calming effect” it had on me was more a placebo thing until I heard other friends say the same thing. A friend of mine uses it all the time to help with her arthritic knee, when nothing else had worked. It does have a heavy scent of menthol though.
- Enviroscrub cloths – Ever have stuck-on, gooey messes? I love this scrubby cloth for getting gooey, dried messes off the floor, countertops, etc. I usually take it around with the mop to get those spots if needed. It doesn’t scratch either (although I don’t use it on polished chrome or something like that).
What I Wouldn’t Buy Again
As you can see, there are quite a few items I love and recommend. However, truth be told, there are a few Norwex products that I didn’t find as useful for the price. While I wouldn’t call anything I have purchased bad, I just didn’t find the value for the price or I found cheaper alternatives.
- Kitchen towels – Other than drying dishes, I couldn’t find any use for them that the envirocloth wasn’t better at. The kitchen towels are far too expensive to only be used for drying dishes.
- Facial / Baby Towels– These towels were great for about a month. I felt like my oily skin was cleaner and fresher. I also have friends who swear their acne is better. However, the cloths attracted dirt and scratchy dust. I washed them with my other norwex items, and they picked up crud and WOULD NOT LET GO. The cloths became quickly unusable because they were scratchy.
- The Dryer Balls – Yes, dryer sheets are awful and full of chemicals, but neither norwex dryer ball type is perfect either. First, I am convinced you can buy the plastic dryer balls at Walmart for half price. The wool balls are a bit more mixed in review. People rave that they have no chemicals, no perfumes, and do fluff the clothes a bit. Some are convinced they dry clothes faster and others say not really. My issue is that static is barely reduced, if at all. (My new efficiency set produces no static, but my first set had some static problems). And I can get highly rated Wool Dryer Balls here for half the cost.
- Optic Cloth – Although it is high quality, I use these less expensive cloths here for cleaning lenses, screens, and such that work just as well for half the price per cloth.

Thanks to NORWEX Odor Eliminator I have broken out in hives on my back, arms and legs. This product is not for people with sensitive skin and the side effects are unbearable.
Caroline Osullivan says
Awesome post. Just a couple of questions, I have started a domestic cleaning business and I’m really trying to find good quality products that work. Obviously chemicals a worry so Norwex seems perfect. With the enviro, you say you clean bathrooms etc. Do you use product with the cloth? Seems weird not to be? Dusting mitt, does it need product? Leave and white bits etc? I am so tempted.
Rachel says
I don’t use any chemicals with the cloths. While Norwex products are meant to be used without cleaners, I see nothing wrong with using a mild dish soap or something for particular problems. I personally still use a hardwood floor cleaner with the mop because dog drool and greasy kids feet. Norwex makes a paste for tougher jobs that is safe even for ceramic cook tops, and it is raved about, but I just stick to the cloths. The dust mitt also uses no chemicals- just rub your hand against it quickly to help activate. Getting into tight spaces or corners can take a minute but it works great for even the finest dust. I am not sure I could do a whole house with just one mitt though as it can only collect so much dust at a time. I hope that helps!
Tagrafa says
The dust mitt and enviro cloth do not need products. The are designed to remove dirt, bacteria, etc. with only water. Using soap or other “non-Norwex” products will clog the fibers and reduce the cleaning ability, as well as the self-sanitizing feature of the cloths. If an extra boost is needed, Norwex makes a Cleaning Paste made primarily from marble flour. I also mix the Norwex Laundry Detergent with water in a spray bottle. It is best to wash the cloths with other Norwex products only, in very hot water, with Norwex Laundry Detergent. One of my biggest fears is that people will use other brands of cleaning solutions/detergent and still think the cloth is removing bacteria, dirt and germs.; and because the other products have fillers that clog the fibers of the Norwex cloths the bacteria, dirt and germs are not being removed which leaves a dirty, nasty surface that just “looks” clean.

I just got some and really wanted to use a cleaner with it. I’m so glad I didn’t! Thank you for explaining that!!
Louis says
Marie, Some people feel more comfortable using a cleaner, even with their Norwex cloths. The majority of the time, I only use water, but once in a while I will use a cleaner as well. You can use a cleaner with your Norwex cloth with no problem as long as the cleaner is 100% natural. Norwex cleaner are very expensive and you can find 100% natural and biodegradable cleaner, such as Shaklee Basic H2, which is way less expensive.
Deborah Guedes says
No you don’t use any chemicals with it at all and for bathrooms just water , they have silver treads on so it kills bacteria and don’t leave scummy marks on it =) they are great.
I have my own cleaning business and thats what i use =)

I am so happy to see that you highlighted the rescue gel! It works wonders for tightness in the neck, back, and head when you get bad headaches. One of the only things that calms me down when I have a tension headache. About to buy some product and super excited!
Stacy says
Wow thanks for your reviews for the top 5 items! How do you clean your envirocloth and window cloth? I want to get this but was wondering do I need to get their own detergent to clean the cloths as it’s pretty expensive as well.
Rachel says
I use the Norwex laundry detergent and my washer has a “sanitize” cycle that is extra hot. While the detergent is expensive, you use much less than many detergents you buy at the store. That is especially true if you have a high efficiency set. I actually use a little less than they recommend – a half scoop (about 1 tablespoon) for a large load of everyday clothes.

Very helpful info! Thank you so much

Any thoughts on the dusting wand?
Rachel says
I love it. It’s sturdy, but the flexibility is great. I dust every week (or about) and it does lock in dust well but I don’t have huge dust bunnies around. I do wish they had a slightly thinner version for getting between electronics. Also, I have done a fair amount of research on finding a cheaper replacement and most similar, well-reviewed wands are about the same price.
Stephanie A Blum says
I love it. I also love that I can attach it to my norwex mop and easily clean my ceiling fan in my bedroom that has 16 ft ceilings. I used to have drag in a huge ladder to do that.
Vanessa says
Have you tried the shampoo and conditioner? I have been wanting to try natural hair products, but I have curly hair and have been hearing mixed reviews.
Rachel says
I have not personally, but I have overall not been super impressed with their beauty line. Again, my personal opinion, but I feel like there are so many beauty companies making good products with plant extracts, as well as sustainable, vegan, cruelty-free, etc for a whole lot cheaper. If I am going to pay $25 plus shipping for shampoo, might as well get something like Aveda or J Beverly Hills for example – i.e. a company that specializes in hair care with products people love. I hope that helps, or at least doesn’t confuse you more!
Yvonne says
I’ve used the shampoo, it’s awesome though I’ve straight hair. It has a thicker texture, a bit odd at the start but quickly got used to it and loving how the scent is barely noticeable. It’s like a fresh lemony scent. Switched over from loccitane after getting it free from Norwex.
The conditioner I sold though, just personally more of an oil person 🙂

Static is caused by too much heat and I learned this thru trial and error. At first all I had was static until I did some research and tried it different ways. Bottom line is if you dry heavy and light weight clothes together and either use the timer or sensor your light cloths will get dry first but continue to be heated for the heavier clothes to dry. Thus creating static in the lighter clothes. If you can’t dry them separately then check periodically and take out the lighter clothes as they dry. I have an older top loader and regular dyer. I dry lighter clothes on the lowest heat setting and on the sensor dry setting. They dry very quickly, are soft and no static! I never dry anything on the hottest setting any more. Hope this helps.

A great help. I’m going to purchase several of your suggestions.
Susan says
Rachel, thank you for your reviews. I am interested in purchasing Norwex products,. I wanted an unbiased opinion.
Cheryl says
I’m thinking of getting Norwex from consultant I recently met. Your review have really helped me to decide to get some of the products. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, Melaleuca ok if you have family with $75-100 month product needs as that’s what you’re required each month to be a member.
Jodie says
I see dryer balls in the photo. Do you use them and what’s your opinion?
Rachel says
My opinion is sort of mixed on the dryer balls. My mother, MIL, and grandma-in-law RAVE about them. They all have high efficiency washer and dryers, 1 with gas. I do not have a high efficiency set (but will next week!), and while the static was reduced compared to no dryer sheet, my husband did find there was some static and he was very sensitive to it. It did seem that the static went away after the load was out, but he hated folding and changing it over. We share laundry duties. I might try them again with the new set to see if there is any difference.
Sheila says
I love dryer balls! Plus my electric supplier coop just put out a statement recommending dryer balls to not only soften clothes but also reduces drying time , thus using less electric= more savings!
Tagrafa says
I love dryer balls now. Honestly, I used them for years before Norwex. I don’t have much problem with static because I usually line or flat dry my lighter weight items. But they have cut my drying time in half. I really noticed it on big bulky items like mattress pad covers and the like.
Malerie says
Thank you for your review. I am a Norwex Consultant and I love hearing when people have great experiences with the products. Great top 5! Have you tried the cleaning paste? Thoughts? Also, the person that sold you the eye cream should be able to provide you with a list of the ingredients. If you want to know what is all in the eye cream, I’m more than happy to share with you. Thank you for your review.
Rachel says
Thank you! That would be very helpful. Unfortunately, my consultant is not at all familiar with the eye cream product or, at least, wasn’t when I purchased it. I have to admit the cleaning paste is pretty darn amazing for things like scuffs on the wall or dried on food. I have also heard something about using it on glass stoves without being abrasive? In my case I haven’t found too much use for it, however, because the cleaning cloths are so good and I keep my own home pretty well maintained for the blog. My consultant describes the paste as “If the cleaning cloth can’t get it, this surely will.” For me, the cleaning cloth pretty much gets everything.
Malerie says
Yes! The ingredients in the eye cream are: “Aqua, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Methylpropanediol, Caprylyl Glycol , Phenylpropanol , Albizia Julibrissin Bark extract, Squalane, Butylene glycol, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 , Cetyl Alcohol, C12-15 Benzoate, Peg 40 Stearate, Plukenetia Volubis Seed oil, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, jojoba seed oil, olive oil, witch hazel leaf oil, Propanediol, Isohexadecane, Butyrospermum Parkii , Sorbitan tristearate, Allantoin, Dehydroacetic acid, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Malus Domestica fruit cell culture extract and Isomalt”. I know it’s a lot! The product sheet we are given, does list the functions of each ingredient as well, so if you would like that I can give that to you too! Now you can do a little bit more research 🙂
Yes!!! The Cleaning Paste is one of my favorites! We call it “Elbow grease in a jar” Literally amazing! And exactly, anything that you are unable to get out with just your enviro cloth, then you go to the cleaning paste for that “extra boost.” You can use the cleaning paste on your glass stovetops and you can even use it to try to clean your oven (although I personally prefer the oven & grill cleaner for that cleaning job). You can also use the cleaning paste to clean & polish your stainless steel (love using it on my stainless steel appliances), clean porcelain sinks, polish faucets, remove nail polish stains, clean & polish jewelry, clean tile & grout, removes rust stains, remove permanent marker on wood, tile & walls, can clean leather seats and couches, omg the list can go on and on and on!! The best thing about the cleaning paste too is that a little goes a LONG way so it should literally last you for years! My last one lasted over 4 years! And I use it all the time!! My favorite is to clean the bathtub with it and my stainless steel appliances! I hope you can find good use out of it, but yes, that enviro cloth usually does the trick majority of the time!!! 🙂
Meghan says
Just a little input on the cleaning paste. I bought it last week and immediately went to work on my glass stove top. I had always used Weisman’s (sp?) the paste and an enviro cloth made the stove top shine like new. I inherited the stove with the house 4 years ago and the burners had always had rings I just couldn’t scrub out. Excited to say the stove top looks brand new.
Rachel says
Thank you! That is very helpful. I saw our consultant clean a glass stovetop with the cleaning paste, but I was too scared it would scratch. I have those burned rings too, so now I think I will have to try this.
Trish says
Just reading the ingrediants for the eye cream…..its the glycerin that left the greasy residue. Doesnt take much either to be extremely greasy.
Rachel says
Oh, wow! Thank you for that information. I got spooked when I couldn’t find an ingredient list!
Connie says
Thank you so much for your review. It really helped clear some things up for me. Have you ever used Melaleuca products? I would be interested in your review on that company as well.
Rachel says
Thank you for your kind words. I have not heard of the Melaleuca products, so I will have to look into that.
Monica says
Thanks for your review. Very helpful and well written.
Mary Vollmer says
Thank you. What you write is very helpful.
