I am super excited to share a fun activity that I participated in! Erlene at My Pinterventures (amazing gal she is!) partnered 80+ bloggers to exchange ornaments and we want to share our creations or special finds with you! I was teamed up with the lovely Bernadyn over at B-is4 Blog. Usually one for traditional reds and greens, Bernadyn told me she wanted to incorporate more gold, white, and silver tones as they went better with her home decor.

Ok, it’s obvious that I am sort of a paper crafting nut, but making an ornament out of paper just didn’t feel right to me. So off I went to Michael’s not having a clue what I was gonna do, when I came across these little wooden discs. They were made to be painted I think but creativity means thinking outside the box, right?
In my case, of course I made my own paper but it is definitely not required. Just in case your interested, I first printed Noel on a piece of white cardstock paper (Chopin Font). On that paper, I stamped and gold embossed the sheet music. Then I distressed slightly the paper with some Old Paper Ink. After that was dry, I took Stickles and outlined the noel in a beautiful red glitter.
I used Glue Dots to adhere the paper to the wood. I do not like wet glue for this as it has a tendency to stretch/misshape the paper. I painted the edges a matching red.
And then gently hot glued some twine around the outside to give it some polish. Gosh! I hope she likes it!

I love the Noel ornament. However, my Chopin font has a different “N” which I don’t really care for. Can you give me some guidance about the “N” that is on your ornament? Thanks!
Rachel says
Ah, you are right! It took me some time to find it, but it looks like I used Maratre Font for the “N”. You can download it for free (personal use only) on dafont.com
