What You'll  Need

Food Safe Method

The only all natural or food safe method I know is melted beeswax to create a water-resistant seal.

Washing Machine Method

I generally prefer this method and products for rainwear like, skiing, boating, motorcycle gear, hunting and hiking. I have used it a few times to waterproof old tent shells.

Spray Bottle Method

This method works best for items that can't be washed like upholstery, outdoor cushions, tightly woven natural, twill, or cotton fabrics.

WARNING: Spray outdoors with gloves on because there are fumes. Full sun is also best for quicker drying and curing.
