Let's Make...
An authentic homemade blackened seasoning lends its signature heat to these smoky blackened Mahi tacos. A kick of Cajun flavor in every bite and ready in under 30 minutes!
– 1 lb Mahi Mahi fillets – 2 tablespoon butter – 2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika – ½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper – ½ teaspoon each Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Thyme – ¼ tsp Oregano
There may be lots of smoke and that’s ok! If you don’t have a good hood vent, opening a window in a small kitchen is a good idea. The fish cooks fast, so it won’t be long.
In a small bowl, combine seasonings. Pat the fish fillets dry and generously sprinkle the fish fillets on both sides with the spice mixture. Pat the mixture into the surface evenly.
Prepare the toppings while the fish sits with seasoning on. (Swipe up for a list of recommended toppings)
Pre-heat cast iron pan thoroughly over medium-high heat. Add butter to the hot pan and as soon as it melts, place the fillets. Cook 5 minutes until blackened and flip for 1-2 minutes.
Prepare the tortillas. Heat a dry pan over medium heat. Once the pan is thoroughly heated up, cook about 15-30 seconds per side.
