Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli

A crockpot just makes dinner easy, and this tangy Sweet Soy beef recipe makes it delicious.

Ingredients

Slow Cooker Beef

  • ½ Cup Lower Sodium Soy Sauce
  • ½ Cup Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) You can substitute with Sherry in a pinch but it is not the same
  • 2 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoon Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger Minced
  • 3 garlic cloves Minced
  • ½ Cup Water
  • 2 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1.5 lbs Sirloin

After Slow Cooking

  • 2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 Green Onions thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets
  • sesame seeds garnish
  • Cooked Rice Jasmine

Instructions

  • Whisk all of the slow cooker beef ingredients in a bowl. Place steaks and marinade into slow cooker. Cook on low 4-5 hours until tender and no longer pink.
  • Spoon a few tablespoons of the slow-cooker broth into a bowl. Add cornstarch to the bowl and whisk until smooth. Pour the mixture back into slow cooker and toss with the beef until combined.
  • Add broccoli and cook, covered, 20 minutes more.
  • Top with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over rice or noodles, if desired.
