In decorating our house on a budget, I shop around at thrift stores, Craigslist, and sometimes yard sales. I have more ideas than I have time really. But I have a coffee table, two full bedroom sets, and a corner cabinet waiting for their own makeovers. Of course, during this experiment called blogging, I have connected with a few extremely talented DIY furniture divas. From roadside reclaims to Ikea transformations, these ladies really get creative. You will not believe how some of these projects started out!
Today I am sharing a DIY world map wall art featuring a silhouette of the world map in vinyl that I made with my Silhouette Cameo. Tutorial and dowloadable world map .studio files cut into sections are included.
Have you seen all those adorable sharpie mugs on Pinterest? These painted coffee mugs are actually dishwasher safe and beautifully painted.
Hubby and I are on completely different schedules most of the time. I am heading to bed at 1am while he is waking up at 4am for work. It can often be difficult to give each other the proper communication that our family needs. One of the ways we have come up with for reminders is to leave a notes next to the coffee machine. But sometimes searching for a sheet of paper can be kind of long and arduous (at midnight). So I made a little chalkboard to leave these notes for each other. Of course I had to get crafty with it!
Total room transformations can be tough on a budget, but paint is cheap and impactful. All-over wall stencils are a great way to add character without breaking the bank. Today I am sharing the first part of my dining room makeover in our diamond-in-the-rough foreclosure purchase.
I have a fabulous boy’s room decor project to share with you today. It’s a Pottery Barn inspired marquee arrow that I designed and my husband built for our son’s room. This project turned out great and I am very excited to share it with youThe arrow measures 21 inches nose to tip. The cuts were pretty easy since it only required a straight cut and a 45 degree cut. Honestly, the hollowed out arrow itself would have been a cute wall decor shelf too!
I am in the middle of the big move to the new house! So exciting. My poor craft room is in shambles but I unearthed one of my favorite storage cabinets for small crafting items. Small items such as buttons, brads, and stickers can be such a pain to keep track of. I used an […]
I finally got around to dressing up my kitchen window with a small herb container garden. Now that cooking is starting to happen on a somewhat steady basis at the new house, these beauties will come in handy. The herbs smell delicious in the kitchen. I purchased 8 self watering containers to cover my sill. […]

There is so much more to interior painting than slapping color on a wall. Tips to be aware of when purchasing and deciding on your interior paint.
It’s been about eight weeks since I gave a sneak peek into the new house renovation. Renovating our foreclosure purchase is really starting to take shape after only 8 weeks. Today, I am sharing some before and after pictures with you of the top floor living space. We are experienced DIYers and this is our dream. So welcome to my “in progress” house!
If you’re lucky to enough to have that awkward space above the kitchen cabinets like I do, turn it into a special place to create ambiance and an inviting atmosphere. I chose wood block letters for a great start to decorating over the cabinet space in my kitchen.
