Use sheet music and glitter glue to craft these DIY sheet music Christmas ornaments. These sparkly ornaments are an easy craft to use on a Christmas tree or home decor for the holidays.
From ye’ old days of scrapbooking to my modern planner, I do love simple paper crafting. And I especially love simple handmade ornaments during Christmas, so I thought I would make a few to decorate and exchange with other creative people.
Along with new DIY wood pallet sign that sits on the Christmas mantel, I am excited to share several projects including this DIY sheet music ornament that I made!
Supplies Needed
For the sheet music, you can create your own with free images from Canva or doing an image search. You can then print the sheet music out on cardstock or thicker paper. Finally, print a word you like over the sheet music before cutting your image out.
For the hanging, the sheet music ornaments are finished off with some gold baker’s twine. I adhered the twine with a glue gun, since it dries very quickly.
Other decorative supplies:
- Very Fine Glitter Glue
- Glue dots or other dry adhesive (for attaching
- A round wood slice
In my case, I used stamps to create the sheet music. I first printed Noel on a piece of white cardstock paper (Chopin Font). On that paper, I laid a sheet music stamp, and gold embossed the design. Then I rubbed the paper with some Old Paper Distressing Ink for that worn look. I traced Noel in red stickles.
Tips for Making These Ornaments
The red stickles (a very fine glitter glue perfect for small details) perfectly covers up the printed Noel and stamp.
Before adhering the paper, I painted the edges of the wood slice a matching red.
To adhere the paper, use a dry adhesive like Glue Dots. Wet glue is not recommended because it has a tendency to stretch/misshape the paper.

They were also really easy to make once all the supplies were gathered. I think this would be a fun craft to do with a group of friends and you can exchange them right there! Gather together with your supplies, some tasty appetizers, a festive cocktail or enjoy hot cocoa and spend the night crafting!
Now, I am sending this one off to a friend, but this sheet music ornament would have been perfect for my cozy Red & Gold Christmas tree!
