Father’s Day is just around the corner and I wanted to capture a moment in time with an easy Father’s Day craft to make for a wonderful husband and father.
Today I am sharing a homemade Father’s Day craft my family gave to the big guy last year. It is a super easy craft that is a beautiful gift from a preschool or toddler aged child. I just love when crafts are both easy and really special. The best part for me is that kids get to join in on the fun of making a craft for Father’s Day too! And it will be a very nice keepsake.
The poem reads:
Walk alongside me, daddy
and hold my little hand.
I have so many things to learn
that I don’t yet understand.
Teach me things to keep me safe
from dangers every day.
Show me how to do my best
at home, at school, at play.
Every child needs a gentle hand
to guide them as they grow.
So walk along side me, daddy,
we have a long way to go.

To create this art piece, I first printed the poem out on vellum paper and cut it into a square. Then I took some washable kids paint and painted my son’s feet (it tickles!), one at a time, and stamped them on a sheet of white paper. Then I attached the papers together with brads. Framing this as a gift for Father’s Day would be a nice idea too.
