The holidays are coming and I am super excited to share some wonderful news and heartwarming stories with everyone. If you have followed my misadventures for a long time, you may remember that we lost our sweet fur baby Diesel last Christmas.I was devastated and I miss him every day, but we recently opened our hearts and our home with two new rescue fur babies.
We adopted Miss Pepper in August from a local rescue group. Isn’t she gorgeous and regal? She is such a sweetie too. Pepper bonded with our family rather quickly and has been very receptive to her training. She is quite the inquisitive soul and definitely needs to be kept busy. However, we could tell she desperately wanted a four-legged playmate.
Which is why we just welcomed the Amazing Mr. Crash! Crash is just settling in with us, but we adore his goofy self. Can you believe he spent nearly a year and a half looking for a forever home?! He was even returned twice! It cannot for the life of me understand because he is a wonderful companion. Currently weighing in at 110 lbs, he is one big ball of love who thinks he is a chihuahua. Sometimes I sense a sadness in him like he thinks this dream will end but I promise we will spoil him with love for the rest of his life.
Dog Treat Wreath
Every year, we make sure our pets receive their own special stocking filled with treats and goodies. This year, I even made them the most adorable Treat Wreath. Of course, I know that the sweeties won’t care one bit about how their treats are decorated, but the wreath actually made a really cute decoration as well on the mantle.
This wreath is really simple to make. I used a simple 9 inch round styrofoam circle and wrapped it in a glittery ribbon.
To hold the treats without using any adhesive, I crisscrossed ribbon to secure them. The ribbon crisscrosses in the front and then crisscrosses in the back.
I pinned a couple of jingle bells in the center to finish it off. Oh, the puppies are going to love it!
