Hello there! Hope that bright and fun boy bedroom decor didn’t scare you! I had so much fun creating my living room design board last week that I decided to make one for my little boy’s bedroom. These design boards really help me to focus and see things I am missing or that don’t look how I envision. Many of the ideas above are basic substitutions but they do give an overall direction.
I am mixing classic americana decor and boyish whimsy in a room where he can grow. The feeling of this color scheme is vibrant, but not obnoxious (if done well). It may seem a little bright, but keep in mind that this bedroom color design is for a 16×10 bedroom. The heavy use of neutrals such a grey and white will help to highlight the bright oranges and lime green accents.
Much like my living room decor, this bedroom also includes several DIYs. A few are already completed such as the striped paint job pictured above and the Marquee Arrow.
- giving some old lockers a makeover
- corner shelves for toys and cars
- octagon shelves
- wall map (I am obsessed with globes and maps)
- painting some very outdated furniture
- something hanging from the ceiling
- he has no light fixture in his room, so need to add one
- closet organization
So what do you think of the Grey, Orange, Navy, Green combination? Fun or too far?
